Gastroenterology is the medical

subspecialty that involves the

digestive system.

Our specialty training develops knowledge in the diagnosis/treatment of digestive problems. In addition, we acquire the skill to perform digestive procedures such as endoscopy and colonoscopy.

You should have a primary care physician to care for your non-digestive problems.

Our physicians are on staff at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.  We provide consultations for patients who are hospitalized when requested by other physicians.  Since we only treat digestive problems, patients who are hospitalized may be managed or evaluated by one of the hospitalist physicians at Methodist Medical Center.  In addition, we perform some endoscopic procedures which require special equipment or monitoring at Methodist Medical Center.
