Procedure Scheduling Staff
|
You will have received your instructions for any needed preparation by our staff before you come to the endoscopy center. Of course, you will need a driver to take you home. Please bring your insurance card and any needed co-pay or deductible with you. We ask you to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled procedure time.
After signing in, you will be interviewed by our staff. We will ask some basic health information, and you will have time to review and sign needed paperwork. Your blood pressure, pulse, and temperature will be measured.
One of our nurses will meet you, and a small intravenous (IV) catheter will be placed. Once ready, you will be taken to a procedure room. Your physician will speak with you prior to the procedure. Sedation will be given by the IV catheter. We strive to safely make each patient comfortable.
Your physician will perform the procedure which usually lasts less than 30 minutes. After the procedure, you will be sleepy and may not remember the procedure. We will observe you in our quiet recovery area, and then you will sit in a recliner. Your family will be brought to your recovery room.
Your physician will speak with you and your family (if you wish) after the procedure. Once you are ready for discharge, your instructions will be given, and our staff will take you down to your car. Again, you cannot drive an automobile for 24 hours after the procedure and will need a driver to take you home.
If you have any questions please ask.
