Stomach Ulcer

Upper endoscopy "EGD" is the examination of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum with a video endoscope.  During the exam if any problems (i.e. a stomach ulcer) are found, our physicians can take a tissue sample (a biopsy).  You will be given intravenous medications for sedation and for your comfort.

More information about upper endoscopy is available at

American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy  and
